Commercial Services

We offer a wide range of residential and commercial surveying services, and we can take care of your surveying requirements if you're buying or selling a property. You'll find that our prices are extremely competitive, especially for the responsive and reliable services we provide.


All surveys are carried out in person by one of our leading surveyors, and every member of our team is a fully qualified Associate Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Energy Performance Certification

M.R Rodger & Partners have accredited Energy Assessors who can produce both domestic and non-domestic/commercial EPCs as well as Section 63 Action Plans for Commercial Buildings exceeding 1000m2.


What is an Energy Performance Certificate?


There is a requirement to provide an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to any prospective buyer or tenant of a property when it is either sold or rented. This applies to all domestic properties (existing and new-build) however some non-domestic buildings are exempt (see below).


An EPC is a document which states the energy efficiency of a building based on a scale of A-G (similar to electrical appliances). The document contains a report outlining how efficiently the building consumes energy and provides the building owner with recommendations on how to improve the energy efficiency of their property.


As mentioned above some commercial buildings are exempt from energy performance evaluation. These include buildings that are

  • listed where any upgrades would harm its status;
  • a temporary building with a lifespan less than 2 years;
  • religious buildings;
  • an industrial site, workshop or agricultural building that’s not heated;
  • a detached building with floor area less than 50m2; and
  • due for (and in the process of) demolition
